I really didn't want to buy any more stuff/equipment while living abroad because it makes moving that much more of a hassle, but I convinced myself that I needed a tripod to open up some possibilities with my shooting. I finally settled on a Manfrotto 055CXPRO3 with a 488RC2 Ball Head after a bit of research. Unfortunately photography is one of those categories where the old adage, "you get what you pay for" definitely applies. Although I paid an arm and leg for it, I don't have any regrets and wouldn't exchange for the more affordable, aluminum version.
